Texas Supreme Court candidate Staci Williams visits Big Spring
“So whether or not you’re a Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal, you’re going to want someone who gives you a fair shot.”
BIG SPRING, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) Texas Supreme Court candidate – Judge of the 101st District Court in Dallas County was in Big Spring Monday evening. Staci Williams is running for Place 7 in the Texas Supreme Court.
“I’m running for the Texas Supreme Court, because it’s time that we have people who are qualified and experienced,” said Williams
Williams currently handles various cases such as commercial, medical malpractice, real estate and oil and gas disputes. She says with her diverse background of expertise, she can bring real-world experience to the table.
“Not only am I a two-term District Court Judge, but I’ve also been an Administrative Judge for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and a Municipal Court Judge for the city of Dallas.”
While she identifies as a Democrat, Williams says judgeships should transcend party lines. She is running on two promises: fairness and due diligence.
“Most of them have not been elected. They’ve been appointed by the governor,” explained Williams. “And you know, when we actually start electing all our Texas Supreme Court Justices, they’re going to begin to look like the State of Texas. They’ll also begin to look like the working class people.”
A primary is scheduled for March 3rd, and the primary runoff will be on May 26th.
